Country Bob's Sauce Review and Giveaway

I  received two bottles of Country Bob's Sauce for this review.  My opinions are my own and not influenced by monetary compensation.

Country Bob's is a delicious all purpose sauce.  It has a sweet tangy taste, and a delicious BBQ flavor.  I love that it can go on more than just steak (as opposed to A1 that is more steak-oriented).  The first night I had Country Bob's I used it on a hotdog just to test it out, it was delicious!  I tried chicken the next night, and even porkchops the night after that - and every meal was full of flavor thanks to Country Bob's.

They even sent a recipe card for ideas with my sample of Country Bob's.  I can't wait to try the "Little Party Bites" -

As noted, I received the 4 pack of Skoy Cloth (which could not have come at a better time, as I just ran out of paper towels).  I've decided to make 2012 a greener year!  Once they arrived, I loved the cute flower design on each cloth.  A note packaged with the Skoy notes that Skoy cloth absobs 15 times it's own weight  and ONE cloth saves FIFTEEN rolls of paper towels!!  They are reusable and washable.  

I wasted no time trying out my cloth.  I tried my cloth on a wet mess, and a stuck on mess just to test.  They absorb moisture wonderfully and are very strong.  I soaked one cloth to remove the stuck on mess and it worked wonders as well.  (soaking is recommended before cleaning for best results)

Then, it was time to test if they would survive the washer and dryer.  They not only survived, but went right back to shape after rewetting.  They are washer/dryer safe AND dishwasher safe as well.  Easy to clean, good as new.  I feel great that I can reuse them and no longer waste paper towels.

TruKid Review & Giveaway!

TruKid was invented by mother of six, and CEO of her international products manufacturing company Velocity Source Group.  Jennifer was a busy mom with a great idea - protecting her children from unwanted and unhealthy chemicals.  Using all natural ingredients and scents that children love, TruKid products were formed.  Not only did she make a great product that you can trust - she also added fun songs and poems as well, to help children with their hygienic routines!  She literally thought of everything.

I am always happy to review products I believe in.  I believe that it is important to realize what chemicals we are putting into our bodies, especially into our children's bodies.  I like to know that TruKid offers products with ingredients listed in detail, and contain NO Parabens, Phthalates, Gluten, BPA, SLS, petroleum, fragrances, or harsh chemicals.

Harmful Chemicals:
Parabens: Widely used as preservatives by cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.  These have been linked in low concentrations in breast cancer tumors.
Phthalates: These products are widely used in substances added to plastics and are being removed from many products in the US, Canada, and Europe over health issues arising.  There are even studies being performed that could link Phthalates with Asthma and Wheezing.
Gluten:  A protein found in many foods, several cases in the US of gluten sensitivity due to Celiac disease are reported.  When you can have a product Gluten-free, you no longer have to worry about Gluten sensitivity even if you do not suffer from it.
BPA:  A harmful substance found in most plastics, being phased out of many US products.  BPA is banned in the use of baby bottles, and the FDA has been studying the effects of BPA on children prompting them to remove many BPA products from shelves.
SLS: Used in detergent.  Known to irriate skin and eyes with prolonged use.

It leaves you feeling at ease to know TruKid has left not one, but ALL of those substances out of their products.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh citrus scent of the Silly Shampoo.  Not to mention, my daughter and I both have very sensitive skin.  Her skin gets irritated at the drop of a hat, so I am always a little afraid of trying new products with her.  When we tried our Silly Shampoo, I could not be happier with the results.  Her hair was shiny, clean, smelled great, and to top it off NO skin irritation at all.  She fell right asleep after her bath, and I, needless to say, was a happy mom all the way around.  From one mom to another, TruKid really knows their stuff.

While my daughter's hair isn't quite long enough to need detangling yet, I have thick hair - I call it Diana Ross hair...there is no other name for it.  I could walk outside and within five minutes come back in a tangled mess - it never fails...brush or no brush.  I had to try this for myself.  The Dancing Detangler also has a great citrus smell.  It really does work wonders.  Pain-free detangling cannot be beat!  

I also received a brand new product in the TruKid line - samples of their Rock'in Rash Relief.  

These samples came at a great time, my daughter has very sensitive skin and often gets diaper rash.  I used a little dab of their Rash Relief serum, and it started to remove the effects within instantly - and I saw rash relief results within two days.  I think this product will be a great addition to the TruKid product line.

Leapfrog My Pal Scout & Violet Review

These are my personal opinions and are no way affiliated with Leapfrog or any retailer selling Leapfrog.

We received our My pal Violet by Leapfrog via a gift from my mother.  I loved how adorable the toy was in the store.  You can purchase Scout (in green) or Violet (in purple).  They have the same voice, but it just depends which color you prefer.  Our My Pal Violet is from Wal-mart.  They are available at K-Mart, Target, and Amazon as well.

Age: 6 months to 36 months

First of all, I love the price of this toy!  You cannot beat $24.99 with all the things this toy can do.  The My Pal comes with a USB cord to hook straight into the computer, and Leapfrog software will automatically install.  Once installed, you can customize your My Pal to say your child's name (from a list of pre-generated names), favorite food, favorite color, and even favorite animal.  You can also pick the song selection available that will play when you press Scout's or Violet's paw with the green Music symbol.  The red symbol on his or her right foot is the power on/off button (although, it turns itself off after each tune or saying).  The blue symbol on his or her left foot plays bedtime music for your choice of 2, 5 or 10 minutes.  The orange symbol on his or her tummy teaches your child about empathy and feelings, as the dog will say things like "I'm feeling sad, May I have a Hug?".  The purple icon on the toy's left paw will play a game with your child by asking your child about colors, animals, and will even mention your child's favorites.

The toy can help teach your child to count, teach empathy, introduce daily routines (includes a morning, afternoon, and night mini-tune), and help children form their first words.

What I loved about this toy was that it will also play a little tune to help your child spell his or her name.  I was also happy that it had my daughter's name in the directory (which is somewhat unusual for the name Raina).  I am definitely impressed by Leapfrog products, and this one is no different.  At six months, my daughter cannot fully understand everything Violet is teaching her, but she already loves to listen to the music, and smiles when Violet talks to her.

Pros:

• Price - $24.99
• Availability - Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, K-Mart, Toys-R-Us, and Leapfrog.com
• List of pre-generated names is fairly broad (including the name Raina, which is unusual)
• Ease of use
• Nice choice of customization options including favorite color, song, animal, and food.  
• Great learning toy, teaches a multitude of things such as feelings, counting, first words, and routines.

Cons:

• Requires 3 AA batteries that are not included, and if used often has a somewhat short battery life (although we used ours ALL the time and ours died about two months into it)
• Need Internet Connection to use My Pal customization (you don't need it to just use the toy as is, but it's a lot more fun if you can customize the toy).

In summary,  I love the options this toy provides.  I love that this toy is so easy to use.  My daughter falls asleep with the bedtime music we chose the My Pal to play and she smiles when the dog talks directly to her.  In all, the toy holds her attention (for a somewhat short time, but again she is on the beginning end of being able to use this toy as she is only six months old).  We are very happy with the product, and would definitely buy from Leapfrog again.

Luv U Zoo Jumperoo Review

If that wasn't a mouthful :)

We purched the Luv U Zoo Jumperoo by Fisher-Price for Raina via Wal-Mart.

This toy has been an absolute life and time saver for me.  Raina can be pretty demanding (diva-in-training) so it's nice to have free hands once in a while, not to mention, she loves bouncing and playing with all the toys.  She was around 4 months old when we bought the entertainer and the connected toys immediately caught her eye and her attention.  It also provides some quiet "mom-time" for mom.

The entertainer has a weight limit of 25 lbs, and a height limit of 32".

Fun Features:

• Flashing lights that hold the baby's attention
• Bouncing action to help her get out some of that energy, and exercise
• Hanging toys she can play with while she develops hand/eye coordination, along with toys that spin, a small mirror, and a retro "abacus" style toy where she can slide the pieces back and forth.
• Washable seat cover
• Volume control for medium, high, and off.  Choice between music that plays as the baby jumps or just jumping sounds.  
• Three adjustable height settings

In summary, this item has a great availability as you can buy it at nearly any major retailer.  The price is a little high, but average for an entertainer.  It is appealing and entertaining to a 4 month old who loves the lights, sounds, and exercise.  The biggest appeal of all, is that mommy gets some hands-free mommy time to do whatever she may need to do.  :) Great for busy moms and happy babies alike.
